Biotech and Pharmaceuticals – London

The Biotech and Pharmaceuticals team has continued to grow with the recruitment of three new fee earners in the latter part of 2016. Last October, three Senior Associates in the Pharmaceuticals team were promoted to Partner, and in 2017 one Senior Associate in the Biotech team was promoted to Partner. The caseload stretches across immunology, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, pharmacology, vaccines, and gene therapy. The team is involved in both drafting and high-end prosecution, and it forms one of the most established oppositions and appeals practices at the EPO.

Whilst a Biotech background is the preference for the current opportunities within the group, experienced chemists, particularly those who have the ability to operate in the area of immunology, are also invited to apply.

IT & Engineering - London

Ilya Kazi and Jane Clark have separate teams but regularly share resource. Between them, they have had some successful hires over 2016 but continue to be very busy so we are looking to expand, ideally with a mid-ranking/senior Associate hire. There is also capacity for a part qualified/junior associate. The work would include IT, telecoms, medical & dental devices, aerospace & defence and clean technologies.

Paul Cozens and Dani Kramer are also looking for additional resource at all levels. Candidates could have a software/computer science background or be more focused on engineering – the team has a broad, mainly UK client base so can accommodate a range of different disciplines. Dani has a strong and growing Designs practice so we are also keen to see candidates with that expertise and interest.

Seeking Experienced Patent Secretaries – London

Based within our London office, we are actively seeking experienced Patent Secretaries who are either looking for direct fee-earner support roles or who are more than happy for variety in their day to day within our valuable float team.

Successful candidates will be highly organised individuals who enjoy the day to day pressures of IP work and who are keen to take on an active and responsible role. Ideal candidates will be knowledgeable and used to dealing with fee-earner deadlines whilst managing and processing their own related workload.
Good patents knowledge and experience is an essential requirement, as candidates will be expected to provide combined secretarial and formalities support to fee-earners.

Our Secretarial roles are suited to professional, reliable and highly organised individuals with excellent communication skills. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is also key and individuals should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Good IT skills and the ability to develop quickly are considered a bonus.

As we continue to grow across our network of offices, we are always on the look-out for bright, like-minded individuals to join our team.

To apply for a position, please send us an up-to-date CV and covering letter.
