Peter works in the IT & Engineering team at Mathys & Squire as a technical assistant, and has recently been assisting in patent prosecution for a multinational telecommunications company.
Peter obtained his MPhys degree from the University of Surrey, graduating with first class honours. This included a year working as a Visiting Research Assistant at Yale University, investigating the atomic nucleus 76Ge using a technique known as nuclear resonance fluorescence.
Peterâ€™s research as a collaborative PhD student, based at the University of Richmond in the USA, was focused on the study of the samarium nuclei utilising gamma-ray and charged-particle detectors. Peter has also published two first-author publications in a leading journal of nuclear physics.
